*Dusts off old LJ*

I see that my last post here was in December 2007. I got a new laptop for Christmas that year, and never got around to installing an LJ client on it. No LJ client, no posts. Although, my rate of updating had dropped steadily before then. Facebook became my new hangout spot, and I came here less and less.

I've been thoroughly cleaning my room for the first time in about two years. Naturally, going through all my old papers and things, this has put me in a reminiscent mood. So much has changed since then: I've gone back to camp, gotten a new job, gotten into 4chan, gotten disillusioned with 4chan, still go to 4chan sometimes, learned to sail, gotten some new IRL friends, gotten more confident, stopped caring about politics so much, figured out exactly how I feel about religion, stopped caring about religion, lightened up, gotten even more into hiking somehow, fixed (some of) my skin problems, started dressing better, started taking park management classes at West Valley, picked up a geography minor, discovered non-mainstream music, experienced a Chicago winter for the first time in a decade, gotten even lazier in regards to school, gotten a new (used) car, rode a motorcycle (terribly), gotten depressed, gotten better, and gotten embarrassingly drunk.

My friends list is full of community posts that I view with some incredulity. Are these people still here discussing the same old stuff? Did I ever find this interesting? I don't know whether to cut some of them out, because I don't know if I even want to stay here. This journal is like a memento of a few years of my life, and by changing it I lose some of that history.

We shall see, boy, we shall see...

The second attempt at cutting my own hair resulted in something a little shorter than I normally like, but a hell of a lot better than the first attempt.

I found out today that the APC at the post office does not accept postcards. Nuts.

Major excitement of this Friday evening: Staying up until 3AM, driving to downtown Saratoga, and running laps around the memorial arch. Because.

I live... [Nov. 29th, 2007|04:07 am]
I am eating blue cheese.

Soon I will have habanero peppers. And then I will combine these two fine ingredients with dead cow and baked wheat berries to make Way-Too-Strong Burgers.

It will be sweet, probably.

So, pocket500, your LiveJournal reveals...

You are... 14% unique
(blame, for example, your interest in wilderness navigation)
and 4% herdlike
(partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy walking).
When it comes to friends you are normal. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please.

Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is overcomplicated.

Your overall weirdness is: 49

(The average level of weirdness is: 27.
You are weirder than 89% of other LJers.)

Find out what your weirdness level is!

The worst drink in the world:

3 parts Everclear
1 part pureed habanero peppers

Falls are the third most common cause of death in the outdoors. Most of these are of the "slide 30 feet down a hill and smash your head on a rock" variety, but occasionally things are more... dramatic.

The number one cause of death? Heart attack.

A $100 bill is today worth about $2 less than it was back in December.
